Training Services
Dog training comes in many levels and can start at any age. Training can start as young as the puppy begins to walk. We're not talking obedience here but rather socialization and potty training. As the dog gets older, more complex training can be introduced, from basic obedience to off-leash advanced obedience to specialized service training. The more training you are interested in, the longer the process, and ultimately - the larger the investment.
Different Levels of Training
So you have decided that you are in need of a professional dog trainer. Great! What type of training are you interested in? Do you want to attend a class with other dog owners or are you interested in a one-on-one training class? Are you interested in training one time, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly? Do you want to train at the dog trainer's facility or would you prefer the dog trainer come to your home? These are all questions you will have to consider. Don't worry, we are here to help you make the right choices that will give you the best success with your dog and reaching his training goals in a timely manner.
Each dog will receive a custom training plan based on their specific needs. But before we can determine your dog's custom training plan, we need to know what type of training he or she is in need of. To answer this question, I have broken our training services into six general categories. This will help you determine which category works for you.

HANDLER TRAINING 2 Week Session (H) (A) (G)
People like to hire a dog trainer so they can drop their dog off at one level and return so many days later to a fully trained dog. In a perfect world, this sounds wonderful. However, training has just as much to do with having a confident handler as it does an obedience dog. Even a professionally trained dog can disobey a weak or unconfident handler. This is why we believe it is important to also train the dog owner for complete success.

PUPPY TRAINING 3 Week Session (H) (A) (G)
You brought your new puppy home and now you don't know where to begin. Socialization, house training, potty training, crate training, and leash training are all examples of puppy training. This is definitely something you can do on your own but maybe you don't have any experience so you prefer a professional opinion on how to do these training skills correctly. I would recommend a one time home visit to learn one-on-one tips. Another option would be a group class, which also offers the added benefit of puppy socialization.

BASIC OBEDIENCE 10 Week Session (H) (A) (G)
Every obedient dog should have a solid foundation of basic obedience in their repertoire. Basic obedience consists of everyday useful commands such as sit, down, stay, come, and heel. The sooner you start, the easier it will be. Depending on the breed, basic obedience is simple and does not take a long time to master. As long as you are consistent, you will see results. All basic obedience is done on leash.

ADVANCED OBEDIENCE 12 Week Session (H) (A)
After your dog has mastered basic obedience, you may want to consider advancing your dog's skills. This includes introducing new commands to your dog and/or training your dog his basic obedience commands off leash. This can be extra helpful if you enjoy bringing your dog with you on daily commutes or if you enjoy participating in pet friendly events, such as dog parks and doggie day care.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING TBD Weeks Session (H) (A)
Once a dog has a solid foundation of obedience, we can begin specialized training. Specialized training has no direct definition as it can include hundreds of services. It depends on what service you would like your dog to perform. This can include show readiness, personal protection, tracking, bite work, service training, and much more.
|
BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION TBD Weeks Session (H) (A)
If your dog is displaying bad habits that you wish he or she would stop, this would fall under behavior modification. Again, depending on what service you are looking for your dog to perform, a bad habit can be any number of things. Most common habits that customers request training for include jumping up on people, being overprotective of owners, temperamental towards other dogs, lack of confidence or anxiety, and much more.
